I did a class recently, teaching in Southern California. And I conducted a random study during the class. And we were talking about the aspect of being a "hyperlocal agent." Maybe you've heard that term before.
This is where you're connecting, not just with the people in your community, but the community itself. Because if you think about yourself as a person that might move to a new area, what will be the first thing you do?
First thing you're doing is Googling it, right? You're gonna hop on the internet and you're gonna Google that place. You're gonna check it out and you're gonna research it. And the keywords you use for your search would be the city name, right?
But you know, the other place that everyone's gonna go is not just Google, but also YouTube.
That's what I do every time I'm going on vacation, I'm checking out hotels. I'm looking at the air to get a feel for it. I'm YouTubing the heck out of it, right?
So we did a little search for Hermosa Beach. Now my grandma house owned a house in Hermosa Beach. I was born in Long Beach, California. So we thought it'd be fun just to do just search the keywords Hermosa Beach, California. Not real estate. Just Hermosa Beach, California, and see what came up.
This was a few months ago, but when we did this, we found that there was no REALTORS position around the words "Hermosa Beach." There was a lot of community videos, but not a lot of agents in those community videos. Very, very few.
And so below the scroll line, there were none.
This is a business-altering opportunity in your local market.
Are you the hyper local agent?
First of all, do you have a YouTube channel? It may be a TikTok channel by the way. And are you shooting video that's highlighting the hyperlocal market, or the community you live in?
Are you talking about the best parks. The best schools. The best restaurants. The best hotspots at night. The best hiking trails. Five reasons why you love living in this town. All of 'em are narrated by you. All of them out in a field, kind of doing a walking tour of the area.
I guarantee you this will generate a lot of business for you.
